Everyone dreams, some just remember more of their dreams than others. Neurotransmitters that connect to memory are significantly less active during sleep. But why do some remember many dreams, while others remember few to none? Our brains work differently, simply no two are the same. Some of his may be genetic, some people’s neuro-transmitters may be more active than others while sleeping. Some circuits of the brain being active during sleep may also lead to causing of dreams. It’s not an exact science though.

But are there techniques to help one remember? Dream journaling immediately upon waking up is proven most effective. Our memory is weakened when we sleep so what we do remember fades very easily even with doing something simple as getting up to get a drink of water and coming back. Keeping a Dream Journal  has become a side habit of mine and I’ve found it helpful in remembering my dreams.
